Job Title: Sustainability Consultant (IES Expert)

Location: Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (On-site)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Consultant with a strong background in construction projects and proven expertise in energy simulation using IES software. This is a full-time, on-site position in Riyadh, KSA, where you will play a crucial role in driving the sustainability agenda for our projects. You will be responsible for conducting energy analyses, providing recommendations for building design optimization, and ensuring projects meet or exceed sustainability targets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed energy simulations using IES Virtual Environment software for various building types.
• Analyze building performance data and identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
• Develop and evaluate energy-efficient design strategies, including building envelope optimization, HVAC system selection, and renewable energy integration.
• Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing energy analysis results, including energy consumption, cost savings, and environmental impact.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to integrate sustainability principles into the design and construction process.
• Provide technical guidance on green building certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, or similar.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in energy modeling techniques, software, and sustainability best practices.
• Contribute to the development of sustainability strategies and policies for the company.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate energy analysis findings and recommendations.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify as-built performance against design intent.
• Mentor and train junior staff on energy modeling and sustainability principles (if required).
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Architectural, or related field) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction projects.
• Proven expertise in using IES Virtual Environment software for building energy simulation. Include specific experience levels (e.g., "5+ years of experience using IES VE").
• Strong understanding of building physics, thermodynamics, and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with green building rating systems (LEED, BREEAM, etc.) and sustainability standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Experience working in the Middle East region is a plus.
• Professional certifications related to energy modeling or sustainability (e.g., CEM, LEED AP) are preferred.
