Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents and threats within an organization's information systems. Their primary role is to ensure the protection and integrity of digital assets and sensitive data.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security events and alerts generated by various security systems, such as intrusion detection systems (IDS), security information and event management (SIEM) tools, and firewall logs.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including identifying the source, containing the impact, and implementing appropriate countermeasures to mitigate further risks.
- Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors through threat intelligence feeds, security bulletins, and industry reports.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate patch management activities to address security vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
- Analyze system and application logs to identify suspicious activities, anomalies, or signs of compromise, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university.
- Master’s degree in any related field from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
