Job Description

Support the business by providing innovative infrastructure, technology solutions, and services that are aligned with the business strategy and growth, through superior project management and service delivery. Ensure the efficiency, availability and reliability of infrastructure systems by maintaining superior service levels and adequate security measures.

This role combines deep technical expertise, leadership and strategic skills, and a collaborative mindset while working with business and IT teams across the department.

Accountabilities

Work Complexity:

  • Parts of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering efficient, available, secure and reliable infrastructure systems and services in the areas of LAN/WAN, enterprise voice, security, and public internet which supports the business over 1200 locations across the kingdom
  • Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for highly complex and mission critical enterprise network systems
  • Serves as a technical expert in the area of network configuration and administration for complex and highly available systems including recommending the redesign and configuration of devices and network components.
  • Investigates and analyzes feasibility of network system requirements and develops system specifications.
  • Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the business.
  • Acts as the technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability.
  • Manage the provision of proactive and reactive support, ensuring strategic and tactical objectives are aligned and required controls are adhered to without compromising responsiveness and availability
  • Develops technology roadmap and action plan in areas of ownership (LAN/WAN, Network Security, Enterprise voice).

Typical Responsibilities:

Network Administration

  • Manage company Wide Area Network, Local Area Networks, Voice and Security across the Kingdom in line with Service Level Agreements (SLA), Performance and Security KPI ensuring availability of Mission Critical Applications (e.g. ERP, POS, SIM, Siebel CRM, e-mail, …)
  • Manage the configuration, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of all Nahdi network, voice and security devices and systems, (hardware and software) including Capacity Planning and Contingency Planning (bandwidth, equipment, …) balancing cost and performance and in line with Business requirements .
  • Define and lead the implementation of best practices in network architecture design including not limited to deployment, administration, networking, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, troubleshooting and production operations
  • Configure, update drivers and tuning of network devices parameters ensuring maximum reliability and performance
  • Work closely with various IT teams including but not limited to project management, database administration, network and security teams, application team and assist in overall architectural design, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Act as a point of escalation, when required; provide hands-on support through high-level troubleshooting skills
  • Provide and maintain current documentation of systems, server configurations, administrative tools, and procedures for implementation of products and services.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for network system administration tasks

Performance Monitoring

  • Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs.
  • Analyzes network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors.
  • Analyzes facility bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies.
  • Recommends enhancements to improve systems availability and performance to senior management.
  • Develop capacity planning models and load balancing/redundancy solutions. Performs adjustments as needed.

Design and Development

  • Works with IT teams to gather requirements.
  • Leads, creates, and collaborates with cross functional teams to produce build design documents that can be implemented.
  • Determines requirements impact on existing architecture, work processes, and systems.
  • Designs and supports internetwork analysis including the physical and logical configuration documentation, and traffic management.
  • Performs network security design.
  • Oversees and ensures proper communication and reviews of requirements, designs and integration for solutions are performed.
  • Configures, tests, automates, integrates, models, analyzes, and, where possible, validates the new design infrastructure within the IT ecosystem.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive database/library of all supporting documentation.

Business Continuity

  • Designs and assists in the development of a comprehensive disaster recovery plan.
  • Assists in the development of disaster recovery plans with service providers and network carriers.
  • Ensures disaster recovery plan testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
  • Ensures readiness of enterprise wide network plans.

Security

  • Reports security issues when appropriate and gathers required information.
  • Makes recommendations to improve security and participates in investigations as needed.
  • Ensures adherence to security requirements.

Vendor Management

  • Works with vendors to resolve network problems.
  • Assists in negotiation efforts for contracts with external vendors.
  • Ensures that external parties are adhering to contract requirements.
  • Evaluates services provided by vendors and recommends changes.
  • Evaluates vendor solutions to ensure compliance with requirements and cost effectiveness.

Service Management

  • Provides Level 2 production support.
  • Coordinates problem resolution among a variety of functional areas and provides subject matter expertise support for diagnosing and resolving problems.
  • Recommends and may implement software or hardware changes to rectify problems or address improvement opportunities.

Continuous Improvements

  • Tracks and monitors improvements to validate improvement results.
  • Participates in the creation and maintenance of metrics around the system and institutes a process for continuous improvement.
  • Performs reviews periodically with stakeholders and vendors
  • Defines and ensures continuous monitoring procedures are set according to the standard procedures and requirements.
  • Creates a plan to evolve the system to reduce cost and improve system dynamics.

Service Level Agreements (SLA)

  • Monitors production, outputs, and services to ensure that SLAs, and other quality metrics, are being met.
  • Assists in developing SLAs.

Coaching/Monitoring

  • Build a high performance team by providing continuous development opportunities through development conversations and other formal (e.g. training) and informal (e.g. coaching) development options in order to maximize performance and ensure performance objectives are met
  • Provides technical guidance, coaching/mentoring to team members.
  • Provides input to performance management of team members.

Employee duties are not limited only to the above-mentioned Accountabilities; he/she may perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

  • BSC in in information technology (MIS or Infrastructure), Electrical/Computer Engineering, or relevant field

Education

  • 5-10 - Years of Experience

  • Network Load balancer: BigIP F5 LTM, GTM, APM, and AFM.
  • WAN Optimization: Riverbed
  • Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds
  • Wireless: Cisco, Extreme Networks
  • Unified Communication: Genesys PureCloud, Microsoft Skype for Business and Polycom
  • ITIL Certification
