Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior Interior Design (Saudi National) to join our team! The Junior Interior Designer will independently perform a variety of conventional and moderately complex interior design assignments by applying architectural and interior design standards, practices, and techniques. The role requires discretion, independent judgment in developing original designs, and proficiency in standard interior design methods. Familiarity with company procedures is essential.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Conduct client interviews, building site surveys, and programming for interior design studies.
- Perform space planning, analysis, and prepare construction documents.
- Develop design concepts, furniture layouts, and finish specifications.
- Research interior products and recommend color, finish, and material selections.
- Write construction specifications and prepare requisitions for materials and furniture.
- Interface with suppliers and review detailed drawings and specifications prepared by others.
- Conduct site visits during construction to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities, including relocation and inventory management.
- Recommend refinements to interior design standards as needed.
- Support business development activities by contributing to proposals and preparing visual aids (e.g., finish boards) for client presentations.
- Perform other responsibilities as required by the position.
Key Relationships:
- Supervision Received: Project Architect/Interior Design Specialist; Project Manager
- Supervision Given: Architectural Designer/Drafters (technical guidance only)
- Internal Contacts: All employees on the project
- External Contacts: Suppliers; Clients
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3+ years of related experience.
- NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) Certification is required.
- Additional certifications such as PMP, LEED, or CCM are preferred.
Skills/Competencies:
- Proficiency in interior design standards, practices, and techniques.
- Demonstrated skills in sketching, rendering, model-building, and presentation drawing.
- Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages commonly used in interior design.
