AtkinsRéalis seeks a Junior GIS Manager to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative geospatial solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in GIS technologies and experience in managing and executing GIS projects. This role requires a technical expert with a deep understanding of GIS systems, data management, and solution architecture.

The GIS Specialist will administer and maintain the GIS environment, ensuring data integrity, and providing technical support. This position demands a combination of technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee GIS system administration and maintenance, including software, hardware, and infrastructure management.
• Establish and implement GIS standards and best practices to guarantee data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
• Design and implement tailored GIS solutions to address specific business needs.
• Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Manage and maintain geospatial data, prioritizing quality, accuracy, and accessibility.
• Provide technical support to users regarding GIS software and data issues.
• Develop robust GIS architectures to support organizational objectives.
• Develop and execute database backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency.
• Manage relational database management systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases to accommodate diverse application requirements.
• Configure and manage virtualization environments to optimize GIS system performance and scalability.
• Handle raster, vector, and real-time geospatial data, ensuring seamless integration and processing.
• Demonstrate expertise in cutting-edge GIS technologies, such as Smart Cities, Digital Twins, Indoor GIS, and Geospatial Intelligence.
• Provide assistance in developing project documentation where applicable.
• Lead the implementation and integration of GIS solutions within cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Leverage remote sensing data to derive valuable insights and inform decision-making.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency by implementing data validation and quality control measures.
• Provide technical support to application developers and other team members regarding database usage and best practices.
• Collaborate with GIS specialists and analysts to optimize database structures and queries for efficient data management and analysis.
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and trends to maintain a high level of expertise
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in GIS, encompassing system administration, data management, and project management.
• Strong proficiency in GIS software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcFM, GeoAI, Python, SQL, FME, databases).
• Demonstrated experience in GIS solution architecture and design.
• Experience in designing and executing ETL workflows
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Fluency in Arabic and English languages.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in specific industry sectors (e.g., oil and gas, utilities, environmental).
• GIS or ITIL certifications.
