About The Role

As we launch Kings League MENA in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, we are looking for elite-level referees to join us on this groundbreaking journey.

This is not traditional officiating. This is fast-paced, high-intensity, small-sided football, fused with showmanship, technology, and global attention. We’re seeking dynamic referees who are ready to adapt to new formats, engage with revolutionary rules, and thrive in a broadcast-led matchday experience.

You’ll be part of a core pool of freelance referees who will rotate across different roles, including Main Referee, Assistant Referee, Fourth Official, Table Referee and VAR, depending on match needs. Flexibility, composure, and top-level communication are essential.

This is a freelance opportunity, with remuneration paid per match or per hour worked, and requires regular travel to our Riyadh venue for matchdays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Officiate Kings League MENA matches in accordance with league rules and spirit
• Rotate across officiating roles (Main Referee, Assistant, Fourth Official, Table Referee, VAR)
• Maintain professional conduct before, during, and after matches in a high-profile setting
• Collaborate with competition and broadcasting teams to ensure seamless match operations
• Apply consistent decision-making while adapting to Kings League’s innovative rules and format
• Uphold the image of the league and act as a role model both on and off the pitch
  
  

Qualifications:

• Refereeing experience at semi-professional or professional level (11-a-side)
• OR significant experience in elite-level small-sided football (e.g. futsal, 5/7/9-a-side)
• Must be able to travel regularly to Riyadh for matchday assignments
• Confident communicator with a strong presence on the pitch
• Familiarity with VAR operations or openness to training
• Comfortable officiating in a high-intensity, broadcast environment
• English proficiency required
  
  

Nice-to-Haves:

• Previous experience officiating under modified or entertainment-focused rules
• Experience working with broadcast teams or in live-event sports production
• Multilingual communication skills
• A passion for football innovation and entertainment-led sport
