Our client is a startup based in Saudi Arabia, part of a regional investment boutique with established offices in the UAE and Bahrain. As they expand their operations in Riyadh, they are committed to building a team of high-caliber professionals to lead their asset management function. This role will drive the development and growth of the asset management division, focusing on diversified asset classes and aiming to increase Assets Under Management (AUM).

Role Summary

The Executive Director of Asset Management will establish and expand the asset management function, covering multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, real estate, and private equity. This position involves creating and executing strategies to grow the firm’s AUM, developing a robust investment framework, and ensuring compliance across all asset categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and implement the asset management strategy, with a focus on diversifying assets across multiple classes, including equities, fixed income, real estate, and private equity.
• Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to align the department’s goals with the firm’s broader growth objectives.
• Investment Strategy & Oversight:
• Oversee the creation and execution of investment strategies across multiple asset classes, ensuring diversification, alignment with client needs, and adherence to risk management practices.
• Manage portfolio performance, monitor market trends, and adjust strategies to optimize returns and mitigate risks.
• Client Development & Relationship Management:
• Build and strengthen relationships with high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors, enhancing client engagement and retention.
• Drive new client acquisition to expand AUM, leveraging expertise across diverse asset classes.
• Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure all asset management activities comply with local and international regulatory standards across asset classes.
• Establish a comprehensive risk management framework to safeguard investments and uphold client trust.
• Team Development & Mentorship:
• Build and lead a high-performing team of investment professionals specializing in various asset classes.
• Provide mentorship and strategic guidance to promote growth, compliance, and excellence in investment performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or certifications (CFA, CAIA) are preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in asset management, with proven expertise in multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, real estate, and private equity) and a strong track record in managing portfolios and increasing AUM.
• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills, with fluency in both English and Arabic preferred.
• Strong client-facing abilities and a demonstrated track record in team-building and developing high-performance cultures.
