Job Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Core Networks Lead to join our Engineering & Networks team in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will bring over 15 years of in-depth experience in core network design, deployment, and operations across telecommunications and IT infrastructure. This role demands technical leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for innovation to ensure a reliable, scalable, and modern core network integrated across multi-vendor, multi-domain environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Network Architecture & Design:

Design and configure core network components, parameters, and features.

Proven background in managing and scaling large service provider networks, including multi-vendor environments.

Ensure seamless integration of the core network with other network domains (e.g., RAN, Transmission, IT).

Develop architecture blueprints and technology roadmaps for Core and Cloud infrastructure.

Innovation & Optimization:

Recommend improvements to architecture and configuration to enhance performance and user experience while reducing operational costs.

Evaluate and propose adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and tools—including AI-driven solutions.

Technical Leadership & Governance:

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple teams, guiding decision-making with in-depth technical knowledge.

Define deployment methodologies, KPI thresholds, and acceptance criteria for core network projects.

Ensure delivery excellence by implementing best practices and continuous process improvement.

Oversee the end-to-end design and deployment of core network elements (routers, switches, firewalls, GGSN/SGSN, PGW, SGW, AMF/SMF, etc).

Lead proof-of-concept, testing, and rollout of new technologies (e.g., SDN, NFV, cloud-native core, etc).

Project & Vendor Management:

Oversee greenfield and mission-critical network deployments.

Lead vendor engagement, including evaluation, coordination, and performance monitoring.

Define and track project performance metrics and drive corrective actions where necessary.

Cross-Functional Engagement:

Collaborate with solution architects, different technology domains, IT teams, network operations, and service management teams.

Act as a strategic advisor, aligning technical initiatives with business objectives.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Core Networks Engineering.

Strong experience across telecom (EPC, 5G Core, CS, IMS, PS, Fixed) and cloud infrastructure domains.

Expertise in control-plane and user-plane traffic flows and protocols (Diameter, GTP-C/U, HTTP/2, PFCP).

Proven success in greenfield deployments and mission-critical environments.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

Advanced certifications in core or cloud technologies are advantageous.

Understanding of Virtualized/cloud-native networks (NFV, CNF, SDN) is advantageous.

English: Fluent (required)

Arabic: Professional working proficiency (preferred)
