Purpose of Job

Jobholders at this level are capable of operating with minimal supervision. They work within guidelines and procedures in order to prepare more complex, specialized or ad-hoc reports in their related field. They contribute to the completion of milestones or operational targets within the assigned functional area. They undertake operational activities including performing inventory reconciliation activities, analyzing inspections’ findings, and identifying potential improvement areas.

Job Responsibilites


  • Coordinate with regional and global authorities to exchange data based on changes in Bonded Zones decisions, protocols, and standards in line with best practices
  • Research and recommend technical software and systems to bonded zones to ensure fast and reliable communication with businesses and bonded zone and exchange relevant data
  • Review and update eligibility criteria related to bonded zones operators and investments applications in line with best practices, compliance trends and ZATCA’s strategic priorities
  • Establish communication processes with ZATCA’s ports to ensure exchange of relevant news, data, and information
  • Coordinate with relevant law enforcement authorities to minimize violations of operating businesses in bonded zones and ensure continuous improvement of work efficiency
  • Conduct research to keep abreast of latest global and regional changes in Bonded Zones decisions, protocols, and standards
  • Receive and review business applications, assess against eligibility criteria and adherence to bonded zones policies, rules and regulations to provide approval/rejection decisions for requested licences
  • Finalize agreements with eligible organizations operating in bonded zones, activate related facilities, follow up on operations, and ensure provision of needed support to facilitate operations
  • Assess and accordingly renew or revoke bonded zones licenses and ensure continuous follow-up to ensure compliance of operators with set policies and guidelines
  • Conduct inventory control activities on bonded zones through random site visits and system oversight, ensure reconciliation with recorded goods’ movements, and escalate spotted discrepancies for further investigations
  • Provide first level support and handle escalated tickets from bonded zone operators for both technical and operational issues
  • Conduct site visits at ports’ level to ensure continuous oversight of Bonded Zones’ activities and highlight operational gaps according to findings
  • Filter collected data from inspections, conduct detailed analysis, identify areas of improvements, and report back findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop periodical report highlighting changes in Bonded zones guidelines, new businesses deal, and operators’ performance gaps, and report back to relevant stakeholders
  • Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
  • Help in solving escalated problems and provide needed support for junior team to ensure work is carried out in an efficient manner
  • Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure cases/issues are closed properly
  • Perform other duties as requested
  • Train junior staff on the different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable
  • Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates/ junior staff
  • Support junior staff or direct reports in order to execute their duties according to set policies and processes
