About the role:
We're looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of financial operations within our Travel & Tour Division — covering everything from airline ticketing and tour packages to vendor settlements and VAT compliance. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of travel industry accounting and Saudi regulatory requirements, where your work directly supports the division's financial integrity and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and manage general ledger accuracy
- Perform month-end and year-end closings, including bank, Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP), supplier, and receivables reconciliations.
- Monitor revenue across all services (e.g., ticketing, hotel bookings, tour packages, visa services, transport, etc.) and verify commissions from airlines, GDS providers, and travel partners.
- Track the cost of sales and tour package margins, and analyze profitability by destination, service type, or branch.
- Handle BSP reconciliation and manage airline, hotel, DMC, and transport supplier statements.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable — including corporate invoicing, collections follow-up, and supplier payment approvals.
- Ensure proper VAT treatment across domestic, international, zero-rated, and exempt travel services, and submit VAT returns in line with ZATCA requirements.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and maintain strong documentation and internal controls.
- Supervise and develop junior accounting staff, building capability in travel accounting and VAT compliance.
We're looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of accounting experience, ideally in the travel and tourism industry.
- Active SOCPA membership.
- Solid hands-on experience with BSP reconciliation and travel accounting systems.
- Working knowledge of Saudi VAT regulations and ZATCA e-invoicing (FATOORA).
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is a plus.
