Testing Lab Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Testing Lab Manager to oversee the operations of our testing laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, with expertise in testing protocols and standards. This role involves leading a team of technicians and scientists to ensure accurate and timely testing services, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the testing lab, including staff supervision, scheduling, and workflow management.
• Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure high-quality testing and safety standards.
• Oversee the planning and execution of tests, ensuring that all tests are performed accurately and efficiently.
• Train and mentor laboratory staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and quality assurance initiatives.
• Maintain and optimize laboratory equipment and ensure all instruments are calibrated and in good working condition.
• Monitor and analyze testing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present reports on testing outcomes and laboratory performance to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software.
