Job Purpose
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Technical Services Specialist – (Workability and Task Monitor) is required to:
- Deliver Technical Services output to superiors, Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMO) and customers and, as required, supervise personnel involved in the variety of Technical Services activities.
- Support the integration and improvement of Technical Services’ domains, while maintaining strict compliance with Continuing Airworthiness (CA) requirements, Approved Data requirements and independence from the AMO.
- Support the development of mitigations for tactical and strategic management of those key critical assets that influence our contractual measures (predominantly the aircraft availability KPM’s), allowing to increase and sustain future performance levels to ESD 2030.
- The Workability Specialist based in KAAB, will support the Workability Team Leader in ensuring that suitable asset solutions & mitigations are in place and optimised to reduce asset criticality and maintain/increase availability.
- Provide support to Workability Team Leader for all KAAB Operational & Management Reviews.
The Technical Services Specialist – (Workability and Task Monitor) main responsibilities include:
- Support the Workability Team Leader in providing the necessary support to the RSAF fleet by ensuring that asset availability is fully optimised to reduce criticality and increase/sustain availability through to ESD.
- Identify, develop and project manage tactical solutions / mitigations to reduce individual asset criticality, preserve availability where required and to tangibly improve asset and platform availability through to ESD.
- Build and maintain a constructive and trusting relationship with all stakeholders including the RSAF Customer, MODSAP, PC teams and the Tornado core programme personnel providing and discharging the tactical and strategic integration activities, mitigation activities and stakeholder engagement.
- Provision of frequent reporting to support findings, status, achievements and performance indicators for the various levels of stakeholders.
Essential
- A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA,
- Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience supported by formal recorded OR Extensive proven experience in relevant CA or maintenance related
- Able to describe or demonstrate a Familiar level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness, the aircraft types managed and the aircraft maintenance environment.
- Able to demonstrate a Practitioner level of skills in Technical Services and Technical Instructions management skills.
- A proven ability to supervise personnel in a CA environment.
- The ideal candidate must have a strong background in a fast jet performance-based support contract, with particular emphasis on Operational Support,
- Knowledge and experience of aircraft engineering, maintenance and support standards.
- Experience of wide stakeholder management within both the MODSAP and RSAF organisations.
- NVQ5/BTEC/HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.
- Incorporated or Technician Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
- Should have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.
- Should be able to work on their own initiative to resolve technical issues.
- Should have broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
- Familiarity with the MS Office suite of administrative applications
- A practitioner level of knowledge of Tornado aircraft and AGE.
- Able to describe or demonstrate a practitioner level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness and the aircraft maintenance environment.
- Be able to demonstrate practitioner skills in aircraft modifications, technical instructions and PtM Technical Services.
