This is a technical leadership role, not focused on delivery or commercial management. The successful candidate will act as a technical authority, supporting design excellence, quality assurance, and innovation across various projects.""

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for complex civil engineering projects across infrastructure, buildings, and T&I sectors.
• Provide design leadership, guidance, and technical direction to multidisciplinary teams throughout all project stages.
• Lead technical reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and client expectations.
• Oversee value engineering and technical risk assessment activities.
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and technical staff.
• Collaborate with other technical directors and discipline leads across the business to promote design excellence and innovation.
• Engage with clients on technical matters, providing expert input during project inception, design, and review phases.
• Represent WSP in technical meetings with stakeholders, clients, and authorities when required.
• Support bids and proposals by contributing technical content and demonstrating WSP’s capabilities.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 20+ years of relevant experience with a strong focus on technical design and engineering across infrastructure, buildings, and T&I projects.
• Extensive experience working with consulting firms or engineering design organizations.
• Deep understanding of regional and international design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocodes).
• Proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary design projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to lead technical teams and influence outcomes through expertise and collaboration.
• Experience in the Middle East, particularly in KSA, is highly desirable.
• Chartered Engineer status (e.g., MICE, PE, or equivalent) is a plus.
