About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Field Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide field engineering support for the TPS-77 Multi-Role Radars. While in Saudi Arabia, the field engineer will report to the designated in-country Customer Radar Maintenance Officer-In-Charge (OIC), who will provide direction regarding radar site visits, work to be performed, and work-related priorities.Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Customer Interface: Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external customers, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships.
- Radar System Support: Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting of L-Band radars, specifically the TPS-77 Multi-Role Radar systems. The TPS-77 is a transportable L-band radar system used for air defence, known for its phased-array antenna and pulse compression techniques.
- Test Data Analysis: Analyse test data to identify issues and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal radar performance.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and redlines to support maintenance and operational activities.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize basic hand tools and test equipment effectively to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee the procurement and management of spare parts and equipment necessary for radar maintenance.
- Software Proficiency: Employ Microsoft application tools and UNIX operating systems, including associated commands, to support radar operations.
- Networking Fundamentals: Apply knowledge of network fundamentals to ensure reliable radar system communications.
- Military Protocols: Operate effectively within a military chain of command, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and customer interface.
- Proficiency in radar system failure analysis and troubleshooting, with specific experience in L-Band radars.
- Strong analytical skills for test data analysis.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English , including strong technical writing abilities.
- Experience with basic hand tools, test equipment, and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and UNIX operating systems.
- Understanding of network fundamentals.
- Experience working within a military chain of command.
- Experience conducting informal training (On-the-Job Training).
- International travel experience.
- Experience working or living in the Middle East region.
- Electro-mechanical skills.
