WSP is currently searching for an accomplished and experienced professional to join our team as a Specialist - Vertical Transport.

Your new role, what's involved?

• Develop and design vertical transportation systems to meet building requirements and industry standards.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new vertical transport systems.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate vertical transport solutions into building designs.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on elevators, escalators, and moving walkways.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring user safety.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols.
• Ensure all vertical transport systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Manage relationships with external service providers and suppliers.
• Coordinate and supervise third-party maintenance and repair services.
• Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate service contracts.
• Provide training to facility management staff on the operation and emergency procedures of vertical transport systems.
• Develop and distribute user guidelines and manuals.
  
  

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in elevator/escalator technology is a plus.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the vertical transport industry.
• Proven experience in the Project management, installation, and maintenance of vertical transport systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of elevator and escalator systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic and maintenance tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Must be available for on-call emergencies and occasional weekend or evening work.
• Physical stamina and dexterity for handling heavy equipment and tools.
