Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Expertise & Management: Serve as the technical owner and primary expert for SevOne and UPM performance management systems. Manage and develop custom monitoring templates, dashboards, and alerts tailored to MPLS and IGW services and DPI.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Continuously monitor and analyze network performance KPIs across MPLS (latency, jitter, path utilization, L2/L3 VPN performance, SR path performance) and IGW domains (BNG subscriber capacity/throughput, Gi Firewall session rates/resource utilization, DNS performance, CDN efficiency, utilization & distribution, CGNAT performance & pool utilization).
  • Insight Generation & Optimization: Apply a strong analytics mindset to perform deep-dive investigations into performance anomalies, identify bottlenecks, correlate disparate data points, and proactively pinpoint areas for network optimization, traffic engineering adjustments, or configuration tuning.
  • Data Automation & Efficiency: Master the handling of large datasets. Develop and implement robust automation for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting, primarily using advanced Microsoft Excel techniques (complex formulas, pivots, VBA) and Basic scripting (Python). Explore and utilize RPA tools for further streamlining repetitive reporting tasks.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Design, generate, and present insightful performance reports, dashboards, and trend analyses for technical teams, management, and the customer, utilizing platform tools, Excel, and potentially BI platforms like MicroStrategy, MS BI.
  • CEM Integration: Correlate network performance metrics with Customer Experience Management (CEM) data (where available) to understand the real-world impact of network behavior on end-users.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Service Assurance, Problem Management, Engineering, and Change Management teams, providing them with critical performance data and insights to support incident resolution, root cause analysis, capacity planning, and change validation.
  • Tool & Technology Advancement: Stay abreast of new features and capabilities within SevOne, UPM, and other relevant analytics/automation tools. Recommend and potentially pilot new tools or techniques to enhance performance visibility and analysis.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related technical field.
  • Performance Tool Mastery: Minimum 3-5 years of proven, hands-on experience and in-depth expertise administering, configuring, and utilizing SevOne AND UPM for network performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting in a large-scale network environment.
  • Advanced Excel & Automation: Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, charting, and significant experience in automating tasks on large datasets using VBA or integrating with scripting languages (like Python).
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong, demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data, identify meaningful trends/patterns, and derive actionable insights.
  • Network Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of underlying network technologies relevant to performance monitoring in MPLS (MPLS-TE/RSVP, SR-MPLS, L2/L3 VPNs, BGP, ISIS/OSPF) and IGW (BNG/BRAS concepts, Firewall/Security principles, DNS, CDN, CGNAT).
  • Experience: Proven experience working within a large Telecommunications Service Provider, ISP, or complex Managed Services environment focusing on network performance.
  • Language: Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Desired Skills & Attributes ("Plus")

  • CEM Exposure: Experience working with Customer Experience Management (CEM) platforms or methodologies in a telecom context.
  • BI Tools: Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, or Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
  • Python Proficiency: Strong Python programming skills applied to data analysis (e.g., using libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) and automation (interacting with APIs, filesystems, Excel).
  • RPA Experience: Familiarity or hands-on experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere) for automating business processes, particularly reporting.
  • ITIL Familiarity: Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity Management) and how performance management integrates with them.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications in networking (Cisco, Juniper & Huawei), performance tools, data analytics, or ITIL.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive & Detail-Oriented: A self-starter attitude with meticulous attention to detail.
