Job Summary:
Participates in on-the-job training (OJT) programs and assists the section officer in enforcing safety policies, procedures, and standards. Performs other related duties as required or directed by the section officer that is covered under the currently approved TAA.
The Shipping & Receiving and Packaging Quality Specialist provides expertise in shipping, packaging of military equipment, support resources, facilities charts and use, receipt and packaging of material, equipment, storage, transportation, full supply infrastructure.
This position is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
What You Will Do
- Requisition, receipt, inspection, storage, inventory and issue of material, consumables, expendables, tools and equipment and modification kits required for Deep Maintenance (DM) activities.
- Implementation of shipping, receiving and packaging criteria, conduct training, and technical support when required.
- Follows up on all items received by the receiving area, sent to workhouses, but not received in the system. Reports will be reviewed weekly.
- Establish and maintain stock records and other electronic databases to manage inventories, materiel control, and provide account and supply reports.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance Directorate to define specifications for parts safeguard, material shipping, receiving and handling, special packaging procedures, and work instruction to support MTSD quality management system.
- Coordinates all shipping, receiving and packaging supply and equipment safeguard aspects, support, procedure streamline, and documentation.
- Establish and maintain automated and manual accounting records, post receipts and turn ins; review and verify quantities received against bills of lading, contract deliverables, purchase requests, and shipping documents; unload, unpack, visually inspect, count, segregate, palletize and store incoming supplies and equipment; maintain a stock locator system and administer document control procedures; pack, crate, stencil, weigh and band equipment and supplies for storage or shipment; assemble bin, shelving and other storage aids; and operate material handling equipment (MHE).
- Assist in scheduling and conducting inventories of all equipment, kits, and supplies and coordinating with the local national officials for the conduct of joint inventories of received shipments.
- Report inadequacy cases in shipping, receiving and packaging management, and develop and provide procedure improvement plans to RSADF command.
- Coordinates all shipping, receiving and packaging supply and equipment safeguard aspects.
- Trains the section personnel on the correct shipping and receiving methods, proper packaging of different military components and subassemblies.
- Provides advice, training, and technical support to improve shipping, receiving, and packaging at MTSD shipping, receiving, and supply sections.
- Specialized in warehouse organization and needs assessment.
- Specialized in handling material to and from the warehouse.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Working experience in material handling and requirement assessment
- Have knowledge in enforcing safety precautions in warehouses.
- Requires advanced knowledge within logistics, warehouse and/or operations management typically gained through extensive work experience and/or education.
- May require vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience.
