Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer specializing in Automation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning services for our automated systems. The Service Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and optimal performance of automation solutions.

Responsibilities

Site Work:

• Execute site works including installations supervision, commissioning & startups activities.
• Conduct Site Surveys as per project requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful integration of automation solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to automation equipment promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure system reliability.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing their queries and concerns.
• Participate in control system engineering projects in developing and reviewing specifications, PLC/SCADA code implementation, testing and commissioning.
• Site works to involve the onsite implementation, testing and commissioning of the Control System works on an as required basis.
• Conduct site surveys related to Control Systems at customer sites.
• Lead and/or support start-up of systems in the workshop and at the customer site.
• Attend on-call jobs at customer site for system troubleshooting
• Provide technical assistance as needed to the internal team and to customers
  
  

Design And Engineering

• Hardware designing & implementation for specialized Control Systems including DCS, SIS & FGS.
• Related experience in Wellhead facilities including Wellhead Control Panels, Skids, and Solar Systems will be an advantage.
• Aware of/have a conceptual understanding of major industrial standards being followed
• Understanding of major instrumentation being used and clarity on the working principle
• Understands/can gather required Information from customer specifications (including functional requirement specifications, P&IDs, C&Es, drawings, narratives, philosophies, etc.)
• Have carried out System Staging, Internal Testing & FAT
• Contact Preventive Services Activities for SABIC on PLC/SCADA Systems.
• Contact Preventive Services Activities for Saudi Aramco on PAS Systems.
• Commissioning and startup of N2 and Air Dryer Packages
• OSI PI Services for KSA and SEC
• Project leadership from KOM to execution
  
  

Training

• Conduct training sessions for clients and internal staff on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
• Support, mentor, and develop local Control & Instrumentation engineers.
  
  

Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, manuals, and documentation updates.
• Collaborate with the technical writing team to improve and develop service documentation.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest enhancements to increase system efficiency.
  
  

Collaboration

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and project management, to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Support sales and solution center teams when required.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or related field.
• Proven experience in servicing and maintaining automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
• 10+ years of experience.
• Positive support and excellent relationships with customers
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Industrial Automation & Controls in Allen Bradley, Yokogawa & Honeywell, GE & Siemens
• Certification in Automation or relevant field.
• Familiarity with industry-specific safety standards.
