Role Objective:
To lead and manage technical engineering aspects of projects with a focus on architectural works across industrial, commercial, and data center facilities.
The role involves coordination of design, review of technical documentation, materials knowledge, and providing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage technical coordination between disciplines (Architectural, Structural).
- Interface with clients, consultants, and authorities to expedite approvals for drawings and material submittals.
- Coordinate and verify the compatibility of Architectural, Structural, and Steel disciplines, resolving any design conflicts.
- Ensure timely issuance of "Issued for Construction" drawings in accordance with the drawing log and project schedule.
- Review subcontractor/supplier shop drawings against architectural requirements and ensure alignment.
- Prepare or review architectural perspectives upon client or consultant request.
- Review, validate, and monitor architectural shop drawings for execution readiness.
- Develop and maintain a drawing submittal log aligned with the overall project schedule in coordination with the planning team.
- Review as-built drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with construction progress.
- Conduct site visits to assess design implementation, gather feedback, and improve future designs.
- Support the Cost Control team by providing technical input for variation orders.
- Maintain a standard library of constructible architectural details with minimal cost implications.
- Contribute to the Engineering section of the End-of-Job Report.
- Review and approve material submissions; resolve conflicts with relevant parties.
- Prepare bid packages for procurement and assist in technical evaluation of proposals where applicable.
- Manage and track material submittals and approvals; maintain comprehensive logs.
- Ensure continuous coordination and communication with project teams to proactively identify and resolve design or site-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in architectural or Civil engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant technical engineering experience in the construction industry.
- Proven experience in industrial, commercial facility, and data center projects is Preferable.
- Solid understanding of design-build and EPC project environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, particularly architectural and Civil materials.
- Familiar with international and regional codes and standards (e.g., IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, LEED, etc.).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of BIM processes is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
