Senior Software Tester

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Tester to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Software Tester at Uvera, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will collaborate closely with our development team and be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying and reporting bugs, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Test Strategy & Planning – Define QA strategies and regression plans for frontend, backend, mobile, and IoT platforms.
• Automation Development – Build and maintain automated test frameworks (Cypress, Jest, Appium, Robot Framework, etc.).
• Manual & Exploratory Testing – Perform exploratory, usability, and acceptance testing across systems.
• API & Integration Testing – Verify REST/GraphQL APIs and cloud integrations (Postman, Newman, Pact).
• IoT & Embedded Testing – Validate firmware, device-to-cloud communication (MQTT, BLE, LoRa, CoAP), and interoperability with AWS IoT Core.
• Environmental & Stress Testing – Simulate device conditions (temperature, network drop, sensor failure) to ensure resilience.
• Performance & Security Testing – Run load/stress/security tests across cloud and device environments.
• Defect Management – Track and prioritize issues; verify fixes before release.
• Collaboration & Mentorship – Guide junior QA staff, review test automation, and embed QA best practices in Agile teams.
• Provide feedback to the development team for process improvement
• Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements.

Requirements and skills:

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, or a related subject.
• 5+ years QA/testing; 2+ years automation; exposure to IoT/embedded testing.
• ISTQB foundation level certification is a must.
• Agile Tester certification is a must.
• Cypress, Selenium, Appium, Jest, Postman, MQTT/CoAP/BLE, AWS IoT Core, GitHub Actions CI/CD, hardware/device test harnesses.
• Automation test proficiency.
• API testing with any tool.
• IoT Testing.
• Knowledge of security and performance testing.
• Keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
• Experience with web and mobile test automation.
• Understanding of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle and being exposed to Scrum projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Collaborate and work harmoniously with the team, taking feedback, exploring solutions, and leveraging expertise.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications like Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), Certified Manager of Software Quality (CMSQ), or ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst.
• Proficiency in hardware and embedded systems.
• Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools like Slack, and Jira, or others to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Type of employment: Full time

Schedule: 8 hours shift, 6 working days/week.

Work location: On-site, Jeddah & KAUST Research & Technology Park, Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.

Transportation: Daily shuttles between Jeddah and KAUST are available.
