- OBJECTIVE/ PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- Key Responsibilities
- Act as ENGIE’s on-site representative and focal point for EPC contractors and Client operations team.
- Supervise daily construction works (civil, electrical, and mechanical).
- Review and challenge EPC’s schedules and control sheets; verify actual progress.
- Oversee the implementation of quality management plan and familiar with all testing and inspections of materials and works to prepare for delivering 20+ years of reliable and sustainable operation.
- Certify progress for payment and ensure works align with contract scope.
- Proactively find solutions for site challenges and apply integration concepts for resources of the two projects when possible.
- Enforce ENGIE’s “ONE SAFETY” culture across all project sites.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and HSE inspections.
- Ensure HSE compliance and maintain technical documentation.
- Follow Process Safety Management and company IMS requirement.
- Conduct risk assessments, MSRA, and implement safe work systems.
- Ensure permit-to-work, LOTO, PPE compliance across all sites.
- Report and investigate any incidents .
- Prepare and maintain 2-week lookahead schedules using MS Project.
- Produce weekly and monthly progress reports with analysis and action plans.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement for critical path resolution.
- Reporting and presenting issues related to construction and commissioning during Project Company progress meetings and any other similar forums.
- Maintain an active Risk Register for both projects; initiate mitigation steps.
- Anticipate issues impacting cost, schedule, or performance.
- Report and escalate major deviations quickly with data-driven recommendations.
- Serve as liaison between Project Manager, contractors, and ENGIE internal teams.
- Supervise testing, energization, and performance verification of systems.
- Understand all contractual test procedures, particularly Performance Test procedures/reports and coordinate/issue reports to the Off taker with the support of Owner’s Engineer/ Project Manager based on Contractors’ reports.
- Ensure SOPs and SMPs are prepared ahead of the COD
- Support preparation of PAC documentation and transition to O&M.
- JOB REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ electrical engineering
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in construction of medium to utility-scale solar PV projects (≥10MWp).
- Experience in EPC supervision, QA/QC, and site risk management.
- Off-grid power, microgrid knowledge.
- Experience in Saudi Arabia would be advantageous.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Good at computing, English skills both oral and written.
- Valid KSA D/L – Mandate.
- Available for full-time site-based assignment and has an ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Flexibility for extended hours and intercity travel between project sites.
- Capability to coordinate multi-national teams and communicate with clients.
