Senior Manager – Systems & Performance

Overview

MBC is looking for an experience professional with deep understanding of media and cloud solutions to be responsible for actively monitoring and optimizing various systems and solutions across its TV Platform products. The role requires to work closely with internal and external technical teams and be the go-to person from business side to review, define and monitor KPIs for all systems, integrations and solutions.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Derive functional/technical requirements from the BRD.
• Review system architecture and solutions design for complex requirements.
• Drive POC’s and solutions evaluations in coordination with development, infrastructure and security teams.
• Responsible for enabling technical roadmaps, outlining future directions and planned system & solutions advancements.
• Participate in review of system test cases with Engineering teams.
• Conduct profiling, benchmarking and performance tuning activities.
• Identify process inefficacies and recommend improvements/automation.
• Responsible for tech budgets and optimizing infrastructure cost.
• Review/participate in resolution of complex production issues.
• Review/participate in resolution of performance issues.
• Participate in solutioning of business and product requirements.
• Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations.
• Leverage internal and industry knowledge to make informed solutions design decisions.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of experience building large scalable systems.
• Solid background with hands-on experience as a principal-level software development engineer.
• Expertise in some or all of the following technologies – HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), DASH, RTMP, RTSP, etc.
• Hands on knowledge of media codecs, formats, transports and container protocols, such as MPEG-2, H.264/AVC, AAC, AC3, MP4.
• Knowledge on Cloud Technologies like S3, Net Storage, CloudFront etc.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance.
• Ability to provide technical guidance across backend, frontend, and ML technologies.
• Thrive in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment, achieving stretch goals.
• Familiarity with CDN architectures (caches, origin servers, proxies, etc.)
