Main Purpose Of The Job

The Warehouse Section Head is responsible for overseeing daily operations within multiple warehouses, ensuring the accurate and timely handling of inventory, proper storage, and efficient dispatch of equipment. In this role, the section head leads the warehouse team, ensures compliance with safety standards, and maintains optimal stock levels while focusing on operational efficiency. The Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with other departments, ensuring smooth coordination between the storage and dispatch of equipment, especially in fast-paced and diverse environments such as media production, lighting and screens, and carpentry for stage.

Duties And Responsibilities

Daily Warehouse Operations:

• Supervise the receipt, storage, and dispatch of equipment and materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all operations.
• Organize and control the flow of equipment and materials within the warehouse, maintaining an efficient and safe working environment.
• Monitor and manage workflows to ensure warehouse staff are productive and tasks are completed within deadlines.
  
  

Inventory Management

• Ensure accurate inventory records by performing regular stock counts and cycle counts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee the storage of equipment, ensuring appropriate storage methods to protect items from damage.
  
  

Team Leadership

• Supervise, motivate, and provide guidance to the warehouse staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Conduct training for new employees and ongoing training for existing staff to improve their efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
• Manage shift scheduling, time-off requests, and performance evaluations for the warehouse team.
  
  

Safety And Compliance

• Enforce safety protocols and procedures within the warehouse to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance with local and company regulations.
• Address and document any safety incidents or breaches and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  
  

Process Improvement

• Continuously analyze warehouse processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Suggest and implement changes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the Head of Warehouse and Logistics to align warehouse operations with broader business objectives.
  
  

Equipment And Maintenance

• Ensure all warehouse equipment is properly maintained, including handling equipment and racking systems.
• Report any issues or necessary repairs to the appropriate department to prevent disruptions in operations.
  
  

Collaboration And Coordination

• Work closely with procurement, logistics, and technical departments to ensure the seamless flow of materials and equipment to meet project schedules.
• Coordinate with the Logistics Supervisor to ensure timely dispatch of and prevent delays in delivery.
• Interact with the Head of Warehouse and Logistics to provide updates on inventory levels, staff performance, and operational issues.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse supervision or management level.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a warehouse setting.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
