Job Description

WSP Riyadh is seeking a skilled Road Inspector to join our team and ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of road construction projects in Riyadh. The successful candidate will play a critical role in conducting inspections, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of road construction projects, including highways, expressways, intersections, and pavements, to assess quality, workmanship, and compliance with design and construction standards.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents to understand project requirements and identify critical inspection points for quality control.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved methods, materials, and procedures, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Perform quality control tests on construction materials, including asphalt, aggregates, and concrete, to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Document inspection findings, observations, and test results in detailed reports, noting any deficiencies, deviations, or areas of concern, and liaise with project stakeholders to address issues promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with project engineers, designers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical queries, clarify requirements, and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, offering solutions to complex road construction challenges and promoting best practices in construction methodologies and techniques.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify potential risks, hazards, and safety concerns, implementing measures to mitigate risks and enhance safety for workers and the public.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to road construction and infrastructure, incorporating relevant advancements into project strategies and methodologies.
  • Uphold WSP's commitment to quality excellence, safety, and sustainability in all aspects of project execution.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional certifications or licenses in civil engineering or construction management are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in road construction inspection and quality control, with a focus on highways, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of working with top international construction consultants and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of road construction principles, materials, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and platforms for inspection, documentation, and reporting.
