Resident Engineer – Geotechnical & Tunneling Works

Job Description

• Oversee geotechnical aspects of construction, including slope stabilization and tunnel support design.
• Provide on-site technical guidance and ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, assessments, and reporting to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Prepare and review technical documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering (or a related field).
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in site-based roles.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, particularly in slope and tunnel support design.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; basic proficiency in Arabic, Turkish or German would be an advantage.
• Site Experience: Prior exposure to large-scale construction projects, preferably in the Middle East region.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing site activities, ensuring technical compliance, and liaising effectively with all stakeholders. This position is based in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia and is foreseen for a duration of 2 years. Afterward, there is a possibility of transfer to AFRY Austria or any other AFRY office worldwide.
