Purpose of the Job

As a key member of the Finance Management team, the Regional Financial Controller- GCC will support the Regional Vice President, Country Managers, Country Controllers, Accounting/Financial Managers and the Global Finance team to ensure financial stability and compliance with Aramex policy and procedures as well as local and international accounting standard to facilitate business sustainability and growth.

The Regional Financial Controller- GCC will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all the financial-related activities for the Region. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, tax, forecasting, strategic planning, deal analysis and negotiations.

Job Description
  • Assists to set strategic direction of the business in the GCC region.
  • Implement a comprehensive reorganization plan for the finance department, incorporating multiple sequential phases aligned with the corporate structure and design of the company.
  • Enhance finance efficiency and control by exploring opportunities for regional-level centralization.
  • Oversee financial compliance matters including reporting, tax, external audit, intangibles management and budgeting.
  • Provide direction and leadership in key external relationships including banking, leases, customers and suppliers.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-term planning, introduce new programs, strategies and regulatory action.
  • Provide advice relating to acquisitions, disposals and management of integration or divestment issues.
  • Oversee working capital management.
  • Oversee the security and control of company assets, ensuring a robust system of internal control is in place, including managing and reporting on business risks and issues.
  • Improve systems and processes that drive the business to increased growth and profitability, maintaining close relationships with the business leadership team.
  • Oversee the cash flow of the assigned region and generate consolidated monthly cash flow statements.
  • Supervise and review the financial records of regional franchise operations.
  • Adhere to company deadlines for monthly financial reporting and annual audits.
  • Address and resolve internal audit findings promptly and effectively.
  • Work closely with legal & Tax teams to re-design the company structure and try to reduce number of activate companies in regions where applicable.
  • Will suggest opportunities for automations, synergies with the Group existing centralized functions such as but not limited to Treasury, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables Collection, Tax.
  • Develop working capital improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare, validate, measure and explain variances for the Budget and Rolling Forecast together with the country controllers in the region.
  • Analyse and provide recommendations on the cost to serve and activity-based costing by products.
  • Lead teams inline with Aramex culture and behaviours to inspire collaboration and accountability.
  • Ensure high team engagement through effective communication and engagement activities.
  • Build a performance driven team with strong skills, experience and mindset to ensure fu=it for future capabilities.
  • Strong talent planning within the function focusing performance management, individual development and succession planning.
  • Strong cross function collaboration and problem solving.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
  • Member of Chartered Accountants
  • 10 -15 years’ experience in a senior finance role with multi country/region exposure and responsibilities
  • Desirable proficiency in SAP and previous engagement with multinational enterprises
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal across different levels in the organisation
  • Flexibility to operate in a dynamic and changing work environment
  • A positive attitude towards change and recognising that is continuous and ongoing
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
