Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Engineer to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing;

• Oversee and manage all civil engineering activities related to runway, taxiway, apron, and airfield pavement construction.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure project compliance.
• Monitor earthworks, sub-base, base course, asphalt/concrete paving, and drainage installation in line with design and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that all civil works meet quality standards, project specifications, and airport authority guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, consultants, and airport authorities to coordinate construction activities.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, ensuring timely progress and efficient resource allocation.
• Participate in site meetings, inspections, and progress reviews to address construction challenges and propose solutions.
• Implement and enforce QA/QC procedures for materials testing, workmanship, and construction processes.
• Conduct site inspections to identify and rectify non-conformance issues promptly.
• Ensure adherence to local and international aviation construction standards (e.g., FAA, ICAO).
• Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
• Identify potential hazards related to civil works on airfield projects and enforce risk mitigation measures.
• Support environmental protection initiatives in line with airport and government standards.
• Maintain comprehensive records of construction activities, inspection reports, test results, and progress updates.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports summarizing project status, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
• Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and material submittals related to civil works.
• Provide technical guidance to field teams and contractors to resolve construction-related issues.
• Liaise with design engineers and airport authorities to clarify design intent and adapt to site conditions.
• Support commissioning and handover activities, ensuring all civil works meet operational readiness standards.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on airfield runway and airport infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in large-scale airport projects involving runway, taxiway, apron, and pavement construction.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical, structural, and materials engineering relevant to airfield works.
• In-depth understanding of construction methods for asphalt and concrete pavements, subgrade preparation, drainage systems, and earthworks.
• Familiarity with international aviation standards and regulatory requirements (FAA, ICAO).
• Experience with project management tools, QA/QC protocols, and field inspection techniques.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and effectively resolve on-site construction challenges.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or relevant civil engineering licenses.
• Experience with BIM, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other civil design and project management software.
• Knowledge of airport operational safety procedures and airside regulations.
• Exposure to government, military, or international aviation infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency in English; additional languages such as Arabic are a plus.
