The Project Controls Engineer is a key contributor to the successful execution of projects within the Project Engineering Department of a petrochemicals manufacturing facility. This role provides essential consultation and support services, fostering collaboration among project engineers, control team members, and stakeholders to ensure timely completion and effective implementation of project control procedures.
Core responsibilities encompass developing and executing comprehensive project control plans, strategically establishing project baselines, and rigorously monitoring schedules and costs. The Engineer supports project engineers in accurate expenditure forecasting, proactive risk management, and maintenance of a detailed portfolio schedule. The ideal candidate demonstrates a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills
1. Should Possess over ten (10) years of extensive project control experience, with a distinct focus on downstream projects.
2. Must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering (preferable), underscoring a solid academic foundation. Non-engineering degrees but with relevant experience of fifteen (15) years may be considered in exceptional cases.
3. Showcase strong analytical abilities and an in-depth understanding of Project Finance.
4. Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills, facilitating effective interaction with company leaders, project teams, and contractors.
5. Possess substantial technical expertise and practical experience with key software systems such as Primavera P6, MS Projects, PowerBI, SAP, Microsoft Office, and related management tools for comprehensive cost, change, and progress measurement.
6. Shall have industry-specific exposure across all project facets and phases, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
7. Certifications for the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEi) would be a plus.

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
