Job Purpose

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The main objective for the Product Security Manager role is to establish and maintain the Salam Product Security Management System. The key accountabilities are the establishment, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Salam Programme Product Security Management System, used to ensure product security risks are effectively managed and products are secure by design, provide advice and guidance on product security matters and facilitate Product Security Training and Awareness across the Salam Programme.

Job Accountabilities

  • Establishment and maintenance of the Salam Product Security Management System in accordance with the BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Functional Governance Manual.
  • Management of the Salam Product Security Management Systems across the Salam Delivery Streams / Projects, ensuring:
  • Product Security Risks are effectively reviewed, assessed and managed.
  • Product Security requirements are identified and effectively managed in Salam Programme
  • Products are secure by design supported by appropriate assurance evidence.
  • Product Security Alerts are assessed and responded in a timely manner.
  • Product Security Incidents are investigated and acted on.
  • Ensure effective escalation and cascade of Product Integrity Reporting.
  • Ensure that evidence is available to demonstrate that Products meet the required contractual product security requirements or meet the highest prevailing product security regulations/standards.
  • Ensure that Product Security Processes/Procedures are effectively applied across the Salam Programme.
  • Continuously improve the Product Security Management System through collaboration with the Salam Project Delivery Teams and the BAE Systems Core Engineering Function.
  • Conduct Peer Reviews on Engineering Artefacts to ensure that Product Security is adequately addressed through the review of:
  • Product Security Risk Logs
  • Product Security Management Plans
  • Maturity Management Plans and Metrics
  • Review and closure of LCM Design Review and Technical Bid Review actions within the required timescales
  • Promote the availability of Product Security Training across the Salam Programme.
  • Provide coaching and advice to Salam Engineering Delivery Teams on applying Product Security within their Products
  • Establishment of a Product Security Metrics Framework and the collation of measures demonstrating the effectiveness of the Salam Product Security Management System
  • Provide Quarterly Compliance Statements against the Product Security Policy in support of the BAE Systems Operational Framework Assurance Statement and KSA Engineering Council
  • Support to the BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Core Engineering Audit Programme
  • LCM Design Review Assessor on other Programmes / Projects
  • Support and is an active member to the KSA Engineering Council Product Security Working Group.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

  • Extensive experience within an Engineering or Technical Role preferably with recent exposure in a management role.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status within a relevant Professional Institutions. Experience in developing engineering management frameworks used to demonstrate compliance with governance, regulatory and standard requirements, ideally within high-risk industries.
  • Experience in the design, development and continuous improvement of engineering processes/procedures.
  • Experience in managing risks in at least one of: Product Security, Product Safety, Product Environmental, Cyber Security, Information Security, Physical Security.
  • Experience across the entire systems engineering lifecycle, particularly focusing on product design, development, procurement and delivery within a high-risk industry.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience in stakeholder engagement and support.
  • Good understanding of different Security Standards.
  • Understanding of an ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor is advantageous.
  • Understanding IM&T, cyber, information security and software engineering is advantageous.
