Job Summary:
The Managed Pressure Drilling lead is responsible for managing and controlling the NOVs standards applicable to the MPD projects in Saudi in order to assure that those projects are conducted accordingly to regional/global policies, providing technical support in all the phases of the MPD projects within the MENA region. To accomplish this main function, the MPD Lead engineer will need to coordinate resources and support offered by the Engineering, Business Development and Operations groups. With minimal supervision will be responsible for providing technical support to all activities related to MPD operations (Planning and execution) in all its variants (CBHP, PMCD, Continuous Circulation) . In addition, will take the lead on many special projects and assist in training and mentoring more junior personnel. Managing all aspects of project preparation for common MPD wells. Wellsite engineering. Preparation and delivery of technical presentation/reports of complex MPD topic/projects, Participation in HazID and HazOP reviews. Training and mentoring junior personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating support for all MPD application within Saudi
- Ensure Regional MPD Wellsite Activities are being Conducted According to Global Engineering and Corporate Standards
- Prepare and present MPD technical material for clients in business development, project kick off, client training and project conclusion phases.
- Supervise and approve engineering proposals and MPD programs. The document must fulfill the standard criteria of the Engineering group formats and contents.
- Establish manpower needs and support on resources optimization and recruiting process
- Verify competency of MPD Personnel assigned to MPD operations and Work, in conjunction with the regional & global management, for the creation of the required competency standards,
- Supervise that DDR format is updated and filled properly. Supervise that EOWR document is started at the beginning of the operation and updated daily.
- Participation in HazID and HazOP reviews. Ensure MPD activities conducted in a manner that meets all corporate and regulatory Quality & HSSE standards.
- Training and mentoring of NOV MPD personnel. Support the Engineering and Operation Managers in the implementation of Training and Assessment programs.
- Participate with the BD group in MPD projects P&L, BSA and technical review for tenders.
- Supervise that all procedures are applied accordingly to plan. Improve and develop new standard processes, procedures and equipment.
- Support Operations Manager on locate potential candidates to work in the regional team, perform technical interviews and participate in the definition of their career development plan.
- Perform periodic meetings with the Global team and MPD leaders from other regions in order to keep his knowledge about the system up to date.
- Supervise that the lessons learned are implemented in subsequent operations.
- Highlight the successful applications in Real Results and Technical Papers.
- Provide wellsite engineering support to common application of MPD with minimal support. Common activities include; crew supervision, rigging-in, daily reporting, flow modeling, coordinate procedures, safety meetings, specialty calculations, fluid checks, corrosion monitoring, data interpretation, training, field superintendent, etc.
- Lead in improving and developing new standard processes and procedures.
- Ensure MPD activities conducted in a manner that meets all corporate and regulatory QHSSE standards
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Good English communication skills (both oral and written)

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
- Candidates with HND/Diploma/Degree in related subject (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical)
- 6/8 years of experiences.
- Functional knowledge of current flow modelling Software.
