Major Responsibilities & Duties performed:

• Every morning checks the logbook of UTM Lab. To know what had happened the previous day and pass verbal or written instruction for corrective action if required.

• Checks the report prepared by Online Inspector/Testing Inspector for previous day and discusses important points with Inspection Foremen.
• Coordinate with production personnel for corrective action especially when junior staff find it difficult. Takes acceptance / non acceptance decision when the Online Inspector is at a fix.
• Ensures that the testing raw material (Billet) is carried out in time report is made on Doc.QF.02 before billets are released for rolling. Advice and supervise the salvaging operation of billets if required.
• Stop and safety meeting discussion about corrective/preventative action and implements all safety and stop issues within the department.
• Prepare the stop card from the negligence of the people and submit it to representative.
• All ejected billets mixed grade check by mobile spectrometer to avoid grade mixing.
• Periodical check online access new standard to maintain our record up to date.
• Physically ensure actual billet weight with production shift in-charge to improve production yield.
• Daily check heat chemistry report from NASCO & ASCO and heat report hand over to our foreman to maintain heat wise rolling for CARES auditor purpose.
• Daily attend the technical meeting to discuss QC delays and find out the root cause.
• Time to time spare and consumables monitoring to keep good stocks to avoid negligence.
• New size and new grade trail rolling and updating the records. Has freedom to accept product as per specification and in consultation with SI/AM/GM-QA in the best interest of the company.
• Ensure mechanicals testing is carried out properly as per supply specification requirement
• Keep enough samples for the 3rd party inspection and test proper identification customers as well.

• Externally, carries failure analysis, customer’s complaints, and micro examination of samples sent by outside party.
• Periodical calibration of in-house measuring equipment like, Micrometers, Vernier calipers, weighing balances etc., and issues the calibration certificates accordingly.
• Testing and Inspection of billets are carried out on time, and they are properly identified, daily batch no. is issued and pasted at proper locations.

Communicates with UTM staff, SI QA, Asst. Manager QA, Lab staff, Production Shift in-charges and above, Logistics.

• To understand and follow the organizational HS&E policies.
• To follow safety instructions related to their jobs.
• To report damaged PPE, unsafe machines or equipment to concerned staff.
• To keep the provided PPEs in good, workable conditions.
• To avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment and welfare facilities.
• To report any accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to concerned responsible.
• To attend safety trainings planned for them.

Having a right to say "NO" to any unsafe work.

Must have computer knowledge – MS Office and ERP SAP System
