What You’ll Do?
The Merchandiser plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the product assortment, inventory levels, and promotions for retail outlets in Saudi Arabia. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, sales teams, and store managers, to ensure effective product placement, timely replenishment, and profitable sales. The Merchandiser is responsible for analyzing market trends, provide point-of-purchase and shelf-management services, monitoring competitors' activities, implementing merchandising strategies (getting the right product, in the right place, time, quantity and price).

The Merchandiser plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the product assortment, inventory levels, and promotions for retail outlets in Saudi Arabia. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, sales teams, and store managers, to ensure effective product placement, timely replenishment, and profitable sales. The Merchandiser is responsible for analyzing market trends, provide point-of-purchase and shelf-management services, monitoring competitors' activities, implementing merchandising strategies (getting the right product, in the right place, time, quantity and price).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assortment Planning: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify consumer preferences, buying patterns, and market trends. Based on this information, curate and develop an appropriate product assortment for different store locations in Saudi Arabia.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and analyze sales data to ensure optimal inventory levels at each store. Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to facilitate timely replenishment and avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
- Visual Merchandising: Create eye-catching and appealing displays that attract customers and enhance the shopping experience. Ensure that the brand's image and guidelines are followed consistently across all stores.
- Promotions & Pricing: Develop and execute promotional strategies to drive sales and clear slow-moving inventory. Conduct pricing analysis to set competitive and profitable pricing for products.
- Sales Analysis: Regularly analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations to management.
- Trade Partner & Distributor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and sellers to negotiate favorable terms, secure exclusive deals, and ensure that the partners stay updated on product launches and market trends.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify potential threats or opportunities. Utilize this information to adjust merchandising strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Seasonal Planning: Plan and execute seasonal promotions and product launches, taking into account cultural and regional preferences within Saudi Arabia.
- Forecasting: Collaborate with demand planning teams to provide accurate sales forecasts for upcoming periods, ensuring efficient inventory management.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards, adhere to local regulations, and maintain proper documentation for audits.

- Education, a high school diploma or graduate a degree in business, economics, sales, and marketing with at proven experience in merchandising, retail, or related roles.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills for representing the organizations in public, during media events and product launches, product demonstrations and while participating at trade shows.
- Strong Communication skills to convey information to customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Self-Motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as in a group to achieve team goals.
- Creative Mindset with a keen eye for visual merchandising and product presentation.
- Strong Organizational & Time-Management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using merchandising software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of the Saudi Arabian retail market and consumer preferences.
