As a Materials Receiving Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, and system entry of incoming materials and equipment. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of supply chain operations and supporting continuous production flow in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Job Description
What you will do
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing lists.
- Ensure all materials meet quality and specification requirements, escalating discrepancies as necessary.
- Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle) to complete goods receipt transactions and update inventory records.
- Label and route materials to appropriate departments, storage areas, or work centers.
- Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and quality teams to resolve non-conformance or missing item issues.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized receiving areas in compliance with GE Vernova’s EHS standards.
- Support inventory cycle counts and assist in root cause analysis of inventory variances.
- Prepare receiving documentation, inspection reports, and related compliance paperwork.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance receiving and warehouse efficiency.
- Technical diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in materials receiving, warehousing, or supply chain in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP).
- Ability to read technical documents, packing slips, and engineering part specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of lean principles and 5S methodology is an advantage..
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Proficient oral and written Arabic & English.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality assurance practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
