Job Title: Manager, Performance Analysis (Athletics & Para-Athletics)

Job Purpose

Lead the strategic development and delivery of advanced performance analysis services across Olympic and Paralympic athletics disciplines. This role drives the integration of cutting-edge technical analysis, race profiling, and biomechanical optimization into national team preparation, ensuring data-driven insights directly enhance competitive performance and medal potential. The Manager collaborates closely with coaches, senior analysts, and sport science personnel to deliver insights that directly inform coaching decisions and athlete development. By establishing clear workflows, building internal capabilities, and embedding data-driven analysis within national teams, the Manager contributes to achieving SOPC's high-performance goals.

Key Accountabilities

Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the work of performance analysts to ensure effective delivery of sport-specific support, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Mentor junior analysts, facilitating their professional growth and integration into sport programs, while ensuring alignment with SOPC’s development pathways.

Strategy & Planning

  • Support the design and implementation of performance analysis strategies tailored to podium-potential sports, ensuring alignment with long-term medal targeting and qualification cycles.
  • Analyze trends and athlete data to guide decision-making and optimize analysis workflows across disciplines.

Policies, Systems, and Procedures

  • Implement standardized processes for video analysis, data collection, reporting, and athlete monitoring, ensuring consistency and quality across sports.
  • Review and refine analytical systems and practices in collaboration with technical staff, aiming to enhance service efficiency and technical relevance.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Sport-Specific Analysis Integration

  • Oversee the delivery of technical and race analysis for sprints, jumps, throws, and endurance events, providing evidence-based feedback to coaches
  • Ensure that classification-relevant insights and performance monitoring tools are tailored and applied effectively within Para Athletics programs
  • Develop event-specific performance indicators and biomechanical metrics that directly inform technical coaching decisions and training adaptations
  • Coordinate advanced race profiling and technical analysis using high-speed video, force plates, GPS systems, and motion capture technologies.

Training and Competition Support

  • Coordinate with national teams and coaches to embed performance analysis support throughout training blocks and major competitions.
  • Ensure timely access to technical analysis, biomechanical assessments, and in-competition feedback tools that aid in real-time decision-making
  • Deploy analysts based on performance cycles, event priorities, and geographical needs, including support across Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

System Development and Capability Building

  • Develop scalable frameworks for data management, analysis workflows, and knowledge sharing across analyst teams.
  • Identify gaps in capacity and lead initiatives to recruit, train, and retain qualified talent within the performance analysis function.
  • Reduce reliance on external consultants by cultivating a sustainable pipeline of internal expertise aligned with national sport objectives.

Quality Assurance and Technical Oversight

  • Monitor the relevance, accuracy, and impact of analysis outputs, ensuring alignment with sport-specific KPIs and coach feedback.
  • Collaborate with Athlete Performance Services and other departments to ensure performance analysis is integrated into broader athlete support systems.

Reporting and Knowledge Management

  • Maintain centralized records of analysis reports, tactical reviews, and athlete progression data for internal reference and longitudinal tracking.
  • Produce periodic reports for senior leadership summarizing key findings, trends, and recommendations arising from performance data.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPC’s data security, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all analytical activities.

Other Accountabilities

  • Undertake any other responsibilities within the scope of the function as assigned by leadership, contributing to the continuous advancement of SOPC’s high-performance objectives.
