Job Title:Manager, Federations Program
Job Purpose
Support the alignment of National Federations’ (NFs) strategies with SOPC’s overarching objectives, contributing to a unified approach and clarity in direction. This role involves assisting in the monitoring and evaluation of NF performance, providing insights to drive improvements and strengthen effectiveness. The Manager is responsible in assisting with the implementation of athlete development programs, tracking NF budget utilization, and building strong relationships with athletes to foster their growth and enhance their experience in line with SOPC’s strategic priorities
Job Specific Accountabilities
Strategic Alignment and Planning
Support the alignment of National Federations' (NFs) strategies with SOPC’s overarching objectives, ensuring consistency in direction, goals, and priorities as defined by senior leadership.
Assist NFs in developing strategic plans that reflect SOPC’s broader organizational mission and vision, providing necessary guidance under the direction of the Senior Manager.
Facilitate effective collaboration across NFs and SOPC teams to help create a unified approach to achieving strategic objectives.
Performance Monitoring and Improvement
Monitor and assess the performance of NFs regularly, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing actionable insights in line with SOPC’s strategic priorities.
Implement and track performance metrics and benchmarks to measure NF progress and ensure they are working towards key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide feedback and recommendations to NFs to enhance their operational efficiency and alignment with SOPC’s strategic goals, escalating issues to the Senior Manager as needed.
Advisory and Support for NFs
Offer guidance to NFs on areas such as strategic planning, governance, and compliance, supporting their development under the oversight of the Senior Manager.
Assist NFs in addressing operational challenges, proposing solutions to support their growth and capability enhancement.
Work with NFs to strengthen their governance structures and ensure compliance with SOPC policies and relevant regulations.
Athlete Development and Program Implementation
Collaborate with NFs to support the effective implementation of athlete development programs, ensuring they are aligned with SOPC’s strategic objectives.
Monitor the progress of athlete development initiatives within NFs, supporting efforts to meet SOPC standards and objectives.
Act as a liaison between NFs and SOPC to address athlete needs, helping ensure development programs are effectively executed.
Stakeholder Management and Relationship Building
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with NFs, athletes, and other stakeholders to support alignment with SOPC’s development initiatives.
Act as a point of contact for NFs, addressing their concerns and needs promptly, while keeping the Senior Manager informed of key issues and updates.
Continuous Improvement and Reporting
Track and report on the impact of federations’ programs, preparing reports for the Senior Manager and senior leadership on progress, performance, and outcomes.
Identify and suggest process improvements in NF management, helping to apply best practices that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within NFs, promoting the adoption of best practices in governance, strategic planning, and program management under the guidance of the Senior Manager.
