Our client is a market leader in the FMCG sector, with a robust presence across the GCC region. Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this multibillion-dollar company employs over 30,000 employees and is recognised for its innovative products and aggressive expansion strategy. As part of their ambitious growth plans, including new market verticals and geographical expansion, they are looking to hire a Senior Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to lead and execute their global M&A initiatives.

THE ROLE

The Senior Mergers & Acquisitions Executive will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly into the CSO, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing mid to large-scale M&A projects globally. This individual will bring extensive experience in the FMCG industry, with a proven track record of managing complex transactions that drive strategic growth. The role demands strong financial acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the M&A lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive M&A strategy that aligns with the companys growth objectives, focusing on market expansion, product diversification, and strategic partnerships. Identify potential acquisition targets and investment opportunities that align with the companys long-term strategic goals.

Deal Sourcing and Execution: Lead end-to-end M&A processes, including deal origination, financial modelling, due diligence, negotiation, and post-merger integration. Conduct in-depth financial and strategic analysis to assess the viability and impact of potential deals.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with the executive team, board members, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on M&A objectives and strategies. Maintain strong relationships with external advisors, including investment banks, legal counsel, and consultants.

Risk Management and Compliance: Oversee the assessment and management of risks associated with M&A transactions, ensuring all deals are compliant with regulatory requirements. Develop and implement best practices in M&A governance and risk mitigation.

Post-Merger Integration:Lead the integration of acquired companies, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with the companys' culture and operational standards. Monitor and report on the performance of acquired entities to ensure the realisation of anticipated synergies and financial returns.

Team Leadership:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing M&A team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide strategic guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA from a top-tier business school is highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions within the FMCG industry, with a proven track record in managing mid to large-scale global M&A projects. Extensive experience in deal sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, and post-merger integration.

Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the FMCG sector, including market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive dynamics on a global scale.

Skills

Financial Acumen: Strong expertise in financial modelling, valuation, and P&L management.

Negotiation: Exceptional negotiation and deal-structuring skills, with a proven ability to close complex transactions.

Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Analytical: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into actionable insights.

Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and present to executive leadership and board members.

Global Perspective: Experience working in a multinational environment, with an understanding of cross-cultural business practices and international regulations.
