Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Logistic Coordinator to join our team! In this role you will get to the smooth operation of logistics activities, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and materials and the efficient management of inventory. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to coordinate and communicate across departments, and a proactive approach to solving logistics challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Coordinate and monitor the transportation and delivery of goods and materials, ensuring timely arrival at project sites or designated locations.
• Develop and maintain logistics schedules, ensuring that materials are delivered as per project timelines.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure that logistics requirements are met and that the movement of goods is optimized.
• Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate records are maintained for materials and supplies.
• Organize and coordinate the storage of materials in warehouses, ensuring efficient space utilization and easy access to inventory.
• Track materials as they are issued, ensuring accurate documentation and reducing the risk of inventory discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to arrange transportation and delivery of materials.
• Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment as required, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure that deliveries are on time and meet required quality standards.
• Track and document shipments, ensuring that materials are delivered to the right locations and within the expected time frame.
• Prepare and maintain all required shipping and logistics documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, and customs paperwork (if applicable).
• Resolve any issues related to shipping delays, lost materials, or damaged goods in coordination with vendors or suppliers.
• Assist with tracking transportation and logistics costs to ensure that projects remain within budget.
• Provide cost estimates and assist in managing logistics-related expenses.
• Identify and report any discrepancies between estimated and actual logistics costs.
• Serve as a liaison between various departments, ensuring effective communication on logistics needs and updates.
• Regularly update project managers and other stakeholders on the status of materials, deliveries, and any potential delays.
• Provide regular logistics reports, highlighting progress, delays, or any challenges faced in the logistics process.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in relation to transportation, storage, and delivery of materials.
• Assist in maintaining safe handling procedures for materials and equipment, minimizing risks and ensuring safe working conditions for team members.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar role.
• Experience with logistics software or tools, including tracking and reporting systems.
• Hands-on experience in inventory management, transportation coordination, or warehouse management.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Basic knowledge of logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  
  
  

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

• Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma).
• Experience in the construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
• Familiarity with import/export processes, including customs regulations (if applicable).
• Knowledge of risk management practices within logistics operations.
