Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsibility for the supervision of Lifting Operations for SAPL Qiddiya Infrastructure Partner (QIDP). Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all work is in full coordination with Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC). QIC is providing strategic direction on a city-wide basis. Reports directly to the Project Director.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lifting plans in accordance with Lifting / Rigging policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Supervise all aspects of lifting operations, including the setup, rigging, and execution of (Simple, Complicated and Complex) lifts across worksites.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of Contractor Crane Operators, Riggers, and Banksmen to ensure that lifting activities are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Prioritize and promote Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives, emphasizing the importance of safe lifting practices.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of international standards and regulations related to lifting engineering practices and ensure compliance within the organization.
  • Act as a point of contact for any lifting-related queries or concerns, providing guidance and support to relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives for lifting personnel, ensuring that they possess the necessary skills and competencies to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to coordinate lifting activities and minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of lifting equipment and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Keep accurate records of lifting activities, including documentation of lift plans, risk assessments, and equipment inspections.


Preferred Education/Experience

  • Appointed Person qualified with minimum 15 years’ experience with lifting operations on construction projects, specifically experience working on projects requiring complex lifting operations using multing types of lifting equipment
  • Advantageous to have extensive experience of significant PM/CM contracts.
  • Project Management Certified is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.


Skills/Competencies

  • Demonstrated teamwork and management skills.
  • Familiarity with multiple crane/ lifting equipment types
  • Familiarity and understanding of Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)
  • Promotes safety and safe systems of work
  • Proven experience of working within complex construction environment
  • Ability to follow through clearly deliver work instructions in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.
  • Strong Contractor Management skills.
