Junior Legal Associate

Job Summery:

Junior Associate, Legal will learn how to effectively and efficiently review and revise simple legal agreements such as but not limited to non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, binding/non-binding memoranda of understanding, lease agreements, etc. S/he will be provided guidance, supervision and on the-job training by more senior staff of the legal section of the department including the head of the department and will learn how to effectively communicate with team members and clients within the organization and beyond. S/he will learn how to manage working a several tasks concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently. At a more advanced stage of the tenure, Junior Legal Associate will be involved in, and will need to deal with, more complex legal matters including governance related matters (by-laws, etc) and will be expected to assist more senior staff of the legal section of the department with such matters.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Throughout the Junior Legal Associate’s training period, s/he will settle into the corporate in-house legal world.
2. Expected to make her/himself familiar with governance matters (by-laws, etc.).
3. Focus on becoming familiar with less complex agreements such as non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, undertakings, lease agreements, consultancy agreements, and similar documents.
4. Will enhance/hone legal English drafting skills, analytical skills, and communication skills.
5. Will work towards mastering assignments under gradually decreasing supervision and at reasonable speed.
6. Expected to gradually become familiar with various aspects of AMTPJ Group’s business, commercial, and technical matters.
