WSP is seeking a Civil Inspector to join our team for a major airport project in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for site inspections, quality control, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Your new role, what's involved?

• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure civil works are executed as per approved designs, specifications, and safety standards.
• Monitor the construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, pavements, foundations, drainage systems, and structural elements.
• Ensure compliance with local and international building codes, project standards, and airport regulations.
• Identify non-conformities, defects, or deviations, document findings, and report them to the Resident Engineer.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to resolve technical issues and maintain construction quality.
• Review method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings for civil-related works.
• Verify compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and report any unsafe practices.
• Assist in the preparation of inspection reports, punch lists, and progress updates.
• Witness testing procedures for materials, soil compaction, concrete pouring, and pavement construction.
• Support the handover and commissioning process by ensuring all civil works meet the required quality benchmarks.
  
  

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in civil construction inspection, preferably in airport, infrastructure, or transportation projects.
• Strong knowledge of airport pavement construction, drainage systems, earthworks, and structural elements.
• Familiarity with civil engineering codes and standards (ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, BS, FAA, ICAO).
• Experience in working with FIDIC contracts and quality management systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and inspection reporting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Prior experience working with engineering consultancy firms or major contractors is preferred.
