- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivables, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements).
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, VAT filing, and other statutory requirements.
- Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial reports and audits.
- Manage commission payments and revenue recognition for property sales, rentals, and leasing.
- Ensure accurate recording of brokerage transactions, including escrow accounts and client funds.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts related to property investments, mortgages, and service charges.
- Coordinate with sales teams and agents on commission structures and payment processing.
- Implement and maintain internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and tax authorities.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, guiding financial procedures.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by junior accountants.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or ACCA is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in the real estate/brokerage industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of Financial Regulations: Familiarity with IFRS, local tax laws, and real estate financial reporting standards.
- Analytical Skills: Strong financial analysis, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
- Leadership: Ability to manage and develop an accounting team.
- Prior experience working in a real estate development, brokerage, or property management company.
- Knowledge of escrow accounting, real estate commissions, and service charge reconciliations.
- Experience in dealing with banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
