Job Summary:


We are hiring a HSE Engineer to lead and strengthen Health, Safety & Environmental compliance across a woodwork/joinery manufacturing environment. You will drive risk prevention on high-hazard activities (wood cutting, CNC, sanding, finishing/painting, solvents/chemicals, forklifts, hot works), conduct inspections and audits, lead incident investigations, and deliver practical training that builds a strong safety culture on the shopfloor.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and site rules aligned with legal requirements and best practices.

• Conduct routine HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments; identify hazards and implement effective controls (machine guarding, LOTO, chemical handling, dust control, fire safety, PPE).

• Lead incident/near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions; maintain accurate records and reporting.

• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and targeted training (wood dust exposure, solvent safety, emergency response, safe lifting, forklift pedestrian segregation).

• Coordinate closely with production, maintenance, and supervisors to ensure safe execution of daily operations and planned shutdown works.

• Support environmental compliance initiatives (waste management, spill prevention, resource consumption monitoring, sustainability practices).

• Act as an HSE focal point with stakeholders (departments, suppliers/contractors, and relevant authorities when required) and provide peri

odic performance reporting to management.


Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety / Environmental / Engineering (or related).

• Experience: 2+ years HSE experience in manufacturing/industrial environments (woodwork/joinery experience is a strong plus). (Manufacturing experience baseline referenced.)

• Certifications: NEBOSH / OSHA (preferred); ISO 45001 awareness (Lead Auditor is a plus).

• Skills: Strong knowledge of HSE regulations/standards, risk assessment, audits, incident investigation, training delivery, and documentation control.
