We are looking for Financial Controller who will manages the day-to-day financial controlling activities to meet the Units short and long-term business objectives and comply with the KONE Financial Control Models (FCM) and external regulations, accounting principles and standards. The Financial Controller will support the definition of local financial policies and ensures that both local and global policies are adhered to.

This role applies to Financial Controllers in all frontline and supply line units for all business units and will report to a Financial Director/Manager.

What will you do?

  • Ensure that the legal entity financial reporting is prepared on a timely manner in accordance with both KONE Accounting Standards and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure that all defined tasks in the month-end closing process executed by finance operations partner(s), KONE Business Services and the finance Global Process Owners (GPOs) are performed for a unit.
  • Collaborate with the finance operations partner(s), KONE Business Services (KBS) and finance GPOs on close activities, providing local business insight and supporting evidence on account movements.
  • Review and approve key reconciliations journal entries and the bridge between KONE Reporting (IFRS) and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure that proper balance sheet reconciliation is prepared for the legal entity in accordance with the KONE balance sheet reconciliation policy.
  • Ensure timeliness, completeness and accuracy of both legal entity and business line/unit results and forecasts in KONE consolidation system (CPM Beacon) in collaboration with business controllers.
  • Organize and run periodic financial performance and balance sheet reviews with Finance Director, Business Controllers, KONE Business Services and finance operations partner(s).
  • Ensure forecasting of statutory income statement and balance sheet items, bridging between business forecasting and legal entity view.
  • Ensure execution of unit specific internal control activities (execution of local internal control activities, relevant documentation and appropriate monitoring activities as defined by global KONE internal controls framework).
  • Ensure that statutory and tax reporting are filed in accordance with both, the local legislation and globally agreed timelines.
  • Ensure that annual dividends are distributed in accordance with the KONE dividend policy.
  • Manage audit process ensuring that both group as well as statutory audit is conducted in accordance with globally defined scheduled and scope.
  • Continuous follow-up of local legislation and understanding of potential impacts to our business and financial reporting. There should be proactive communication of these on to both, local and global stakeholders.
  • Act as the first point of contact for local authorities.
  • Approve payment proposals and authorize manual payments in accordance with KONE policy.
  • Collaborate actively with finance GPOs, KONE Business Services and finance. operations partner(s) to resolve process issues or exceptions. Ensure that KONE global finance processes and improvement initiatives are implemented in unit in line with global policies and process blueprints.
  • Identify and forecast FX exposure and agree on hedge plan with KCO treasury
  • Actively participate in relevant mergers & acquisitions related activities in cooperation with the global KONE M&A team.
  • May lead a team of financial professionals.
  • Providing actionable insights on financial performance of unit to the Finance Director, Business Controllers as well as business leaders on a day-to-day basis.
  • Participate to selected business meetings to build detailed understanding of unit business performance and related topics. Provide accounting expertise as needed.
  • Advise business on bank guarantees, provide approvals, and collect back bank guarantees.
  • Gain understanding of FX exposure and potential impacts for a unit and advise business in FX management in projects.
  • At month-end, review and summarize legal entity financial result and performance and balance sheet in cooperation with business controllers to validate completeness and accuracy of both financial and management reporting and forecasting.

Are you the one?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a must.
  • 10 years of experience preferably in Saudi.
  • CPA, CMA, Dip IFR certificate are a plus.
  • Experience of IFRS implementation.
  • Saudi Zakat & tax experience is mandatory.
  • Software (SAP, Beacon).
  • Technical skills (Excel Advance, Office, Power point).
  • Leadership & business partnering mindset.
