Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Engineer to join our team!

What You’ll Be Doing

Field Supervision and Execution Support:

  • Monitor and support daily site activities related to civil and pavement works, including excavation, subgrade preparation, asphalt, concrete pavements, and duct banks.
  • Verify work progress and ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and project quality requirements.
  • Review and interpret IFC drawings and method statements to guide site execution.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and foremen to ensure timely and safe construction practices.


Technical Assistance And Issue Resolution

  • Provide on-site technical support to resolve construction issues, design discrepancies, and material queries.
  • Liaise with design and engineering teams to ensure field works are aligned with approved plans and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of red-line markups, as-built drawings, and field design adjustments.


Inspection And Quality Monitoring

  • Conduct inspections of site works including paving, grading, utility installation, and concrete works for compliance with specifications.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to validate test results and inspection requests (IRs) for critical activities.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, assist in corrective measures, and maintain quality documentation.


Project Coordination And Communication

  • Coordinate with construction teams, consultants, and client representatives to align on execution plans and progress.
  • Attend daily site meetings and contribute to look-ahead schedules and resource planning discussions.
  • Provide regular updates to construction managers on site progress, constraints, and material availability.


Health, Safety, And Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to project HSE policies and safety regulations at all times.
  • Report any unsafe practices, near misses, or incidents and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of safety among site workers and subcontractors.


Documentation And Reporting

  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, work logs, inspection checklists, and photographic documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing and validating contractor submittals such as method statements, ITPs, and material approvals.
  • Prepare technical reports and field memos for unresolved site issues and coordination needs.


Education

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.


Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in civil construction, with a proven track record in airport/airfield projects.
  • Experience with airside components such as runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage systems, and underground utilities.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, site execution procedures, and material specifications.
  • Familiarity with pavement layers (flexible and rigid), concrete mixes, airfield lighting ducts, and airside construction tolerances.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and field reporting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make timely technical decisions on-site.


What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in airside projects under aviation authority regulations (e.g., ICAO, FAA, GACA).
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC processes, field testing procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with airport-specific construction materials and techniques (e.g., grooving, joint sealing, fuel-resistant asphalt).
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
  • Valid safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.
