The Environmental and Sustainability Manager will be responsible for driving and implementing the client's environmental and sustainability goals throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-contract design stages through post-contract construction. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects achieve industry-leading sustainability outcomes and comply with relevant regulations and client requirements.

- Adhere to the Client's development and design brief, integrating environmental and sustainability considerations.
- Support the team in developing phasing and packaging strategies with a focus on sustainability.
- Champion the Client's sustainability goals and implement strategies to achieve them.
- Develop and manage sustainability initiatives to meet the Client's environmental and sustainability targets.
- Provide program management and governance for all sustainability projects, including identification, procurement, management, and commissioning.
- Develop sustainability plans, procedures, and protocols aligned with the Client's standards.
- Manage the development and implementation of sustainability programs (LEED and Mostadam) across project packages to achieve required ratings.
- Assist in creating a Responsibility Matrix outlining roles for designers, consultants, and contractors regarding sustainability and environmental activities.
- Develop RFP and Tender documents, including scopes of work and deliverables for sustainability consultants and specialists.
- Evaluate prequalification and design proposals for consultants, ensuring compliance with the Client's sustainability requirements.
- Guide consultants during design development to ensure technically sound, financially efficient, and timely solutions that meet project environmental and sustainability needs.
- Manage multiple design and specialized consultants, supporting internal and external teams for high-quality, coordinated output across disciplines.
- Ensure adherence to project environmental and sustainability policies, procedures, processes, and controls.
- Facilitate and coordinate environmental permits and NOCs efficiently and with quality, liaising with the Stakeholder Management team.
- Continuously review design costs to prevent overruns and ensure budget adherence.
- Attend technical and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, prepare minutes of meetings (MOM), and follow up on outcomes (as required).
- Coordinate internally with all departments and the Document Controller for proper document control and work coordination.
- Lead regular Sustainability Meetings with Consultants, reviewing deliverable progress, facilitating coordination and problem-solving, and maintaining workshop records/trackers.
- Liaise with Design and Project Controls teams on change management, reviewing, tracking, assessing, and monitoring change requests and VE proposals for their impact on sustainability (as required).
- Coordinate with the project team for alignment on sustainability goals and information distribution.
- Liaise with the Masterplan team on environmental and sustainability matters, coordinating updates on Masterplan designs and ensuring timely, organized, and recorded information distribution.
- Coordinate with the internal BIM team for information exchange on project designs.
- Manage the RFI process, assessing responses from relevant parties.
- Identify scope changes through comments and RFI replies, managing the change request process and coordinating with all departments.
- Identify project risks and contribute to the risk register with mitigation proposals.
- Manage works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve industry-leading sustainability outcomes while meeting operational requirements.
- Guide contractors and their specialty consultants (if applicable) during construction to ensure compliance with project environmental and sustainability protocols.
- Manage contractor teams, supporting internal and external teams to ensure information distribution and coordination on project environmental and sustainability goals.
- Lead regular Sustainability progress Meetings with contractors, monitoring implementation and coordination, and maintaining workshop records/trackers.
- Coordinate with the internal BIM team for information exchange on construction activities.
- Liaise with Design and Project Controls teams on change management during construction, reviewing, tracking, assessing, and monitoring change requests and VE proposals for their impact on environmental and sustainability requirements (as required).
- Review contractors' sustainability deliverables (drawings, reports, etc.) and follow up on pending or commented issues, including LEED and Mostadam scoring.
- Maintain an on-site presence during construction phases across all activities, providing real-time reporting to the client team on all related matters.
- Provide weekly reports on the progress of sustainability deliverables.
- Lead regular Sustainability Meetings with Contractors, reviewing progress, facilitating coordination and problem-solving, and maintaining workshop records/trackers.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental Science from a reputable University.
- Minimum LEED AP and Mostadam AP and SITES AP certification.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 5 years in the Middle East.
- Required experience in PMC large-scale projects.
- Preferred experience in public realm, mixed-use, and theatres/indoor arenas projects.
- Required registration as a licensed professional.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
- Required experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Required experience in Oracle Aconex.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
