WSP seeking a Site Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and testing of mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with the Mechanical related Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s). Candidate shall be closely working with Project Manager/Site Manager/Site Mechanical Engineer ensuring that all mechanical system is installed, tested and commission in accordance with the project specification, drawings and relevant codes and standards.

WSP seeking a Site Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and testing of mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with the Mechanical related Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s). Candidate shall be closely working with Project Manager/Site Manager/Site Mechanical Engineer ensuring that all mechanical system is installed, tested and commission in accordance with the project specification, drawings and relevant codes and standards.
Your new role, what's involved?
Key Project Responsibilities:
- Review of ITP/Quality Plan Documents related to Sewage Treatment Plant / Wastewater Project.
- Conduct/Supervise regular inspections of mechanical systems and equipment, including piping, valves, blower, diffusers and machinery etc. as per approved Quality Plan.
- Witness and verify mechanical testing and commissioning activities to ensure that systems are functioning as designed.
- Identify and report any defects, deficiencies, or deviations from the project specifications and drawings during inspection.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with site engineers, contractors, vendors and stakeholders to ensure that mechanical systems (static & Rotary, Fabrication etc.) are inspected and tested correctly.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure that all mechanical systems and equipment are installed and functioning correctly.
- Maintain proper non-compliance register and raised NCR.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel as required.
- Participate in site meetings, progress meetings, and other project-related meetings as required.
- Prepare inspection reports and submit to site engineers and project managers.
- Maintain and coordinate log of all on-site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Lead and motivate a team of mechanical technicians and support staff.

- Offer guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members.
- Cultivate a culture of safety and professionalism within the team.
- Establish and maintain robust quality control procedures for mechanical work (static & Rotary, Fabrication etc.).
- Ensure adherence of Project Quality standard for mechanical items (static & Rotary, Fabrication etc.)
- Ensure that all mechanical-related inspection activities are executed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure adherence of Safety regulations/compliance during inspection and testing of Mechanical equipment (static & Rotary), TSE pipeline at project site
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses
- Experience in Sewage treatment plant and TSE pipeline installation.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and team leadership.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging construction environment.
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in mechanical inspection, preferably in a
- construction or project management environment (Sewage Treatment / Water/Wastewater projects).
- Minimum 3 – 5 year experience in Sewage/Wastewater treatment plants.
- Profound knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and standards.
- Professional certification in mechanical inspection/Welding Inspection is required.
- Professional Registration in Saudi Council of Engineers is preferred.
