Job Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining the reliability and technical integrity of machinery & rotating equipment assets in the assigned plant area, leading a team of mechanical and condition monitoring technicians. Provide technical support to operations, reliability strategies and maintenance activities, including performance assessment, trouble shooting, failure investigation and development of recommendations. Develop report and analyze asset key performance indicators including the improvement action plans. Review condition monitoring programs reports (offline and online systems).

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor implementation of rotating equipment condition monitoring program to ensure compliance to established programs.
  • Assess condition monitoring analysis reports, troubleshoot deviations and recommend corrective activities to ensure and enhance the reliability, availability and integrity of rotating equipment.
  • Carry out technical studies of Bad Actors and MTA processes (rotating equipment) and engage equipment vendors/external experts as needed.
  • Lead/Participate in formal root cause analysis investigations of rotating equipment failures and provide recommendations to ensure and enhance asset reliability.
  • Act as subject matter expert (Rotating Equipment Reliability) in the assigned area and provide technical advice for operations and maintenance on rotating equipment performance and conditions.
  • Advice repair methods to ensure and enhance rotating equipment integrity and reliability.
  • Provide resources for the rotating equipment performance and mechanical reviews of existing installation when required and/or new asset during FAT and SAT.
  • Review and approve maintenance strategies and equipment care routines developed by maintenance strategy teams.
  • Investigates equipment maintenance problems and initiates corrective measures.
  • Develop and implement rotating equipment best practices in line with industry performance benchmarks.
  • Works closely on equipment reliability and process improvement with operations and support group staffs
  • Provide technical support for large machinery/rotating equipment outages and repairs.
  • Perform criticality analysis and spare parts recommendations.
  • Take part in predictive/preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Ensures repairs, repair techniques, equipment specific training, are documented and made available.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
  • Develop maintenance procedures for mechanical equipment in order to facilitate consistent execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Track KPls and other metrics related to rotating equipment performance.
  • Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements, as well as regulatory, ASME, API, and CPC standards.
  • Contribute scope development for maintenance and capital improvements.
  • Participates in developing the maintenance budget to support the maintenance strategy.
  • Provides input on development of work orders during development of turnaround work scope, particularly on critical equipment requiring engineering review or input.
  • Creates/develops/changes/updates job procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure MOC 's.
  • Uses reliability engineering principles and tools (such as Reliability Growth Analysis RGA and Root Cause Analysis) to improve Asset Reliability and long-term cost of ownership of the facility.
  • Review data of Mechanical equipment maintenance budget and analyze for common mode of failures, repetitive failures and performance of equipment decisions/materials.
  • Establish, create and implement a preventive maintenance program for all Hydraulic systems based on SABTANK engineering and maintenance standards and the Manufactures Instruction/ recommendations.
  • Hydraulic systems: Hydraulic pumps and motors, Hydraulic control systems, and Hydraulic systems hoses and connection.
  • Performs other duties such as ensuring adherence to safety and participating in the investigation of any accidents and compiling incident reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in petrochemical plants or oil & gas plants or refineries and minimum of 3 years' experience with Rotating Equipment.

  • Excellent technical and practical skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
  • Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and a sound knowledge in relevant software.
