Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for LSA Programming & Production engineering activities, which includes CNC programming, implementing new technologies for process improvement, cost reduction & lean manufacturing. Supporting production in new product introduction and current product improvements / trails & implementing automation solutions (Robotic & Non Robotic),

Key Accountabilities:

Laser, Punch, Bending & Robot Programming - In line with the production requirements

Production Engineering Support: Jigs / Fixtures / Templates / Pallets / Factory Layouts - In line with the production requirements

Process Improvements / Automations / Innovations / SPMs - In line with smart objectives

Current Product Improvements: CR/CI, ECR/ECN - In line with smart objectives

New product introduction (FAN) - As per Strategic plan

Management Reporting & Reports - As per management plan

General note: The job responsibility is flexible and subject to change based on departmental needs.

Job Context:

The position is responsible to:

LASER/PUNCH/BENDING PROGRAMMING:

• To manage the team of programmers to meet the Laser, Punch & Bending Programming target of LSA in line with the production plan.
• Programming improvement on a continuous scale to achieve higher nesting efficiency as per budgeted target.
• To guide programmers to improve Laser Efficiency by implementing new technology like Flyline & Twinline.
  
  

PRODUCTION ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES:

• To fulfill below requirements as per LSA Production requirements.
• Jigs, fixtures, templates, Pallets (New requirements & Replacements).
• Factory Layout.
• Std Time.
• Punching/Bending/Copper Cell Tools.
• Special tools & Equipment’s.
  
  

NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION:

• Provide support to production in GR4 stages of new product introduction.
• Provide support to Production/QA on process flow charts, facility requirements, tool requirement, jigs & fixtures requirement, equipment for new processes, layout during NPI.
• Capex calculation for requirements related to NPI
• Generation of work instruction for the new product using preliminary instruction that comes out of the GR3 stage from Industrial Engineering.
  
  

PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS / AUTOMATIONS / INNOVATIONS:

• Robotics
• Non robotics
• New technologies
• New Machines for better process.
  
  

CURRENT PRODUCT IMPROVEMENTS

• Analysis & Problem solving,
• 8D & other Methodology
• Design improvements feedback to Engineering
• Trialing & implementing proposed improvements
• Creating work environment to meet quality standards set by ISO 9000/14000/18000
• BOM validation and error reporting to contracts/LTH Eng for corrective actions (ECR/ECN process)
• Build Instructions
  
  

LEAN MANAGEMENT:

• Eliminate Waste Activities
• Coordinate with related departments for optimized process flow, Lean manufacturing
• Total cycle time (throughput time) reduction
• Implementing 5S concepts
  
  

SYSTEM MANAGEMENT (D365) & MANAGEMENT REPORTING:

• Ensure to submit/ Circulate all management reports on time.
• D365 activities related to the Department (Route etc)
• To manage raw material (sheet Steel) requirements as per program release through transfer orders process in coordination with Stores & Production
  
  

TRAINING

• Impart Training to workers on Product and other technical aspects of product
  
  

HEALTH AND SAFETY

• Facilitate Safe working environment for people and implement H&S guidelines and regulations
  
  

General

• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the company.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of information relating to the company’s business and staff.
  
  

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s in mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering
  
  

Minimum Experience: Minimum 4 years’ experience on relevant skills as detailed above.

Job-Specific Skills:

• 3D Design software Knowledge (Inventor/ Solid works/ Catia/ Unigraphics/ etc)
• Should be well versed in understanding engineering drawings.
• Incorporating better material handling solutions,
• Experience in electrical switchgear products and knowledge
• CNC Programming Knowledge
