Elevator/Escalator Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Elevator/Escalator technician should have experience in this elevator/escalator and its components (Electrical & mechanical). He will be responsible for maintaining and repairing chains, motors, sensor, controls & panel program. Ensuring that the equipment is functioning efficiently and safely, diagnosing and repairing any issues that may arise, and providing regular maintenance to prevent potential problems.

Daily Tasks

• Inspect, maintain, and repair elevators & escalators.
• Perform regular inspection & maintenance work.
• Inspect electrical and mechanical systems and components to identify hazards, defects,
• and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.
• Order & replace faulty components and spare parts.
• Make adjustment and do calibrations of controls.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Follow the plans and recommendations of manufacturers in operation & maintenance.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Follow up with service provider for periodic schedules.
• Other duties could include working in other areas of the maintenance department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff in other trades or to perform duties associated with light construction projects.
• Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Facility Services Department.
  
  

Qualifications And Requirements

• Technical Diploma in related field. Training courses is an added value.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in elevators & escalators (preferred, Mitsubishi brand).
