Electrochemical Engineer

You will play a key role in researching, designing, and developing electrochemical systems and processes for various applications, including energy storage, renewable energy conversion, and environmental remediation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrochemistry, materials science, and engineering, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and development activities to design and optimize electrochemical systems and processes for specific applications, such as batteries, fuel cells, electrolysis, sensors, and corrosion protection.
• Design and perform experiments to characterize electrochemical materials, interfaces, and reactions, using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and chronoamperometry.
• Develop mathematical models and simulations to predict the performance and behavior of electrochemical systems under different operating conditions and configurations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including chemists, materials scientists, and mechanical engineers, to integrate electrochemical components into larger systems and devices.
• Design and fabricate prototype electrochemical devices and systems, utilizing additive manufacturing, microfabrication, and other advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and identify opportunities for improving performance, efficiency, and reliability of electrochemical systems.
• Conduct literature reviews and stay updated on the latest developments in electrochemical science and engineering, including emerging technologies and research trends.
• Participate in technology transfer activities, including the scale-up and commercialization of electrochemical processes and products.

Qualifications:

• Batchelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a related field with a focus on electrochemical engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrochemical research, development, or engineering, preferably in industry or academia.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electrochemical principles, including thermodynamics, kinetics, and mass transport phenomena.
• Hands-on experience with electrochemical testing equipment and techniques, such as potentiostats, electrochemical cells, and spectroscopic methods.
• Proficiency in modeling and simulation software tools, such as MATLAB, COMSOL, or Aspen Plus, for electrochemical system design and analysis.
• Experience in materials synthesis, characterization, and processing for electrochemical applications, including electrode fabrication and surface modification.
• Familiarity with relevant safety protocols and regulations for working with hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems in a laboratory environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities, with a track record of innovation and creative thinking in solving complex technical challenges.
